Invasive Species (Wetlands)

Nearly all of the world’s ecosystems have invading organisms (e.g. plants) which affect other organisms in the ecosystems and processes. They can significantly impact on industries such as agriculture and fisheries. They are also an important focus for conservation management because their impact is so pervasive with many protected area managers focusing their efforts on weeds or feral animals. Many other management organisations spend considerable resources controlling invasive species (e.g. catchment management organisations).
